Showy panicles of 1/4" fragrant lilac/lavender colored flowers and aromatic palmate leaves. Native to China and India where it has had a long history of use to treat headaches, dizziness, coughs, dysentery and ulcers among other ailments. The leaves, roots, bark, berries and sap are all used. Hardy to Zone 6, perhaps Zone 5 - this has been a very showy and hardy shrub for us for years. Great plant for honeybees.
