A native grass which may be burned as an incense; used by some in purification rituals. This is scented with coumarin - the odor (vanilla)of which develops more once the plant is dried. It has also been used to stuff pillows, treat coughs and sore throats and in basket-making. Spreads rapidly by rhizomes. Easy and adaptable.
