Small tree from India with highly pungent leaves used in curries. Small fragrant white flowers are followed by black berries. The leaves have been found to be antifungal and antibacterial. They have been used as a tonic, stomachic and to treat dysentery and control diabetes. Easy to care for house plant where not hardy. We give them part shade during the summer and full sun during our winter. They prefer to stay above 55 degrees but will tolerate lower temps for short periods. 4" pots - picture shown is a mature plant going to seed.
