The edible flowers are a bright yellow-orange with a continous bloom period from early summer to the first killing frost. Picking the flowers will encourage more blooms. Used in many cosmetics - skin moisterizers, shampoos, and hair dye. The flowers were used to color butter in the past - a yellow dye is extracted from the petals. Reseeds.
