All parts of the plant exude a bright orange latex which has been used to remove warts and corns. The latex stains skin as well as clothes. The fresh herb is said to be a mild analgesic, chologogic, antibacterial and a central nervous system sedative. Yellow to orange flowers appear in sparse umbels. Attractive grayish deeply lobed leaves. Can cause skin irritation. Reseeds everywhere but it is easily controlled due to its shallow roots.
