Seeds are attractive to wild Turkeys and other birds. Good for the wild border or planted in a large clump. Plants are generally not bothered by deer since the leaves are strongly laxative. Host plant for the Sleepy Orange and various Sulfer butterflies. Prefers moist rich soil but once established is quite drought tolerant.
