Native to southeastern Europe and central Asia, it is now naturalized worldwide due to it's medicinal uses. Traditionally used to strengthen the heart, regulate menstruation, treat insomnia, fevers and stomachaches, and aid in childbirth. A robust plant, one of the first clumps of green in the spring.
