Commercial source of camphor, which is used in balms and cold medications because of its heating and soothing properties. It has a very penetrating nature and numbs the peripheral nerves. Internally it has been used (with caution-toxic) for its calming influence. Effective moth and flea repellent. Grown as an ornamental tree in the southern U. S.; good easy tub plant in the north. 4" pots.
