Fragrant leaved tropical tree native to the Caribbean and Central America. The fruit yields the spice Allspice. Fruit production is doubtful outside of the tropics(a male and a female are needed), but the long glossy green leaves are used in cooking as well with the same flavor as the fruit. Essential ingredient in jerk seasoning. Easy and fast as a tub plant in the north - keep well lit, above freezing and damp. Attractive and evergreen. 4" pots.
