Longevity: HP (zones 4 to 8) |
Showy white flowers and flat leaves with a delicate garlic flavor. Used in Chinese stir-fried dishes as well as many Thai dishes. Leaves can be cut fresh and added to dishes near the end of cooking time - prolonged cooking will dissipate the flavor. Flowers can be added to salads or dipped in batter and fried. Maintenance-free - average garden soil in full sun is best but they will take quite a bit of shade. These have been used in treating poisonous bites of serpents and insects, and in nourishing and purifying the blood. Deadhead to prevent reseeding. From China.
