Epiphytic plant native to South America. Usually found growing on trees, but sometimes on the forest floor. Long, tough grey-green leaves that develop spotted variegation as they age. One of the easiest bromeliads to grow indoors. Very low maintenance plant. Produces multiple new shoots yearly that can be easily divided, giving it the name "friendship plant". Absorbs water through its leaves and flowers as well as its shallow root system. Small but vibrant royal blue, green and pink flowers bloom mid-winter for us and last 6-8 weeks. Six inch pot.
