A plethora of uses recommend this to the home herb gardener. Tea made from the leaves is reminiscent of the scent of Bergamot and Thyme and is also expectorant and reduces fevers and flatulence. It is used in Italian cooking, often in place of mint. The essential oil is antibacterial and antifungal and is an ingredient in some pharmaceutical preparations. The plant is covered with hundreds of small pale lavender flowers in June and July. A beautiful and easy plant for sunny, dry poor soil. From the Mediterranean.
