True pyrethrum; the showy two-inch flowers have yellow centers and dark pink rays. The dried flower heads are ground and used as a very effective insecticide, which is only mildly toxic to mammals. As a dried powder it retains its potency indefinitely, but breaks down quickly once exposed to sunlight; we make extensive use of this in our greenhouses. Also known as "Chrysanthemum roseum", "C. coccineum" and "Tanacetum coccineum".
