Native to the Mediterranean region. The flower buds are pickled and become Capers. Leaves and berries are also pickled or eaten raw. The root bark is used to treat gastrointestinal infections, diarrhea and gout. Tolerant of extreme heat and drought, it must be brought indoors where temperatures go much below freezing. This is a spineless variety. 4" pot.
