Tea from the seeds has been used medicinally to alleviate cold symptoms and as a carminative. The plant has the same feathery appearance as Florence Fennel without its distinctively bulbous base. Leaves and seeds are used in cooking, salads, and in the manufacture of Absinthe. Host plant for the Anise and Black Swallowtails as well as many other butterflies.
