Large important medicinal Angelica native to Siberia, Mongolia and Eastern temperate Asia. Naturally found in damp soil along stream and river banks. Umbels of greenish white flowers can be 12" across. Used to treat headaches, pain, toothaches, to detoxify the blood and as an anti-inflammatory. The leaves can cause dermatitis and the root contains angelicotoxin, which can be toxic in large doses.
