Repellent to insects, it requires little care if provided with rich, well-drained soil. An easy, showy perennial with yellow-centered, white-petaled, daisy-like flowers. Tea made from the leaves is used to treat arthritis, fevers, colds, and as a tonic. The root contains pyrethrin, a powerful insecticide; may cause dermatitis in some people. Research is proving that the leaves are effective in controlling migraine headaches, especially when used with leaves of Laurus nobilis. Reseeds.
