Used to flavor Muscatel wine. A wash made from the powdered leaves is soothing to the eyes and the tea helps digestion. The plant is a rosette of large hairy toothed leaves the first year with large masses of white to pink to bluish flowers the second year. Grown commercially now for it's essential oil for the perfume industry, Clary Sage has a long history of treating everything under the sun. An extract is used to flavor cigarette tobacco. Thrives in heavy soils.
