Hardy perennial; blooms late summer through fall. Typical blue "monks hood" flowers on rigid stalks - no staking required. Used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, this plant is quite poisonous and shouldn't be used casually. Many sources recommend wearing gloves when handling the roots; easily divided after 2 or 3 years. The plant prefers damp partial shade and rich soil but will tolerate full sun if given plenty of water. Native to Korea, China, Siberia. 4" pot.
