This has got to be one of the oddest names for a basil. We were given seed for this by one of our customers from Guyana who didn't know the origin of the name - anyone out there know?. It has a very unique smell - a mix of Vanilla, citrus, licorice, and more. The leaves are narrower than your typical Sweet Basil but nearly as long. While we started this originally from seed, we propagated it from cuttings until we had enough to grow out for a seed crop. It flowers very little, and produces little seed, acting more like the (tender) perennial Basils. It comes true from seed, and thankfully we got an adequate seed harvest this year. Packet - $3.50
