Small-leaved creeping member of the mint family. Very aromatic and repellent to fleas and other insects while pleasant to humans. Traditionally used to flavor puddings hence the name "Pudding Grass". Antispasmodic, carminative, diaphoretic and stimulant. It can induce suppressed menstruation but beware of self-medicating - excessive amounts can be harmful. The essential oil should never be taken internally but is used in the cosmetic industry and the manufacture of synthetic menthol. Blue flowers. Usually over-winters and/or reseeds here. Easy indoors.
