An attractive miniature shrub with narrow dark-green leaves and dark blue flowers. Great for honeybees, butterfies and hummingbirds. Deer resistant. An infusion of leaves is used in treating bronchial and lung ailments. It is expectorant, antiseptic, and used as a cough suppressant. The leaves are said to aid in the digestion of fats, and are used to season meats during cooking. The aroma is sweet, clean, minty and camphorus. This herb is used in the flavoring of several liqueurs, notable Chartreuse and Absinthe. Easy and virtually evergreen, it also reseeds itself. Prefers well drained alkaline soil. Drought resistant.
