A sweet clove-scented shrub whose lime-green fuzzy leaves are up to 4" long. It is widely used throughout the tropics for flavoring and medicinal purposes. It is used to treat headaches, fevers, and gastrointestinal distress. In the tropics, burning leaves are used to repel mosquitoes. The flowers are pale yellow. An eye-catching specimen plant which is also a fine tub plant for the sun room. Native to Africa, India, now pan-tropic.
