The leaves are narrower than those of English Lavender. This variety also has a higher oil yield than the English Lavender with a scent reminiscent of lavender, camphor and rosemary. It is used commercially in air fresheners and insecticides. Medicinally it has been used to treat headaches, fevers, colds, nausea and rheumatic pain. Flowers are large and dark purple with prominent "wings" at the top of the flower spike.
