Native to the eastern US; a shrubby plant with narrow (2 1/2" long x 1/4 - 1/2" wide) strongly mint scented leaves. A favorite pollinator plant - it's favored by native bees, wasps and butterflies because of the multitudes of tiny white flowers. Blooms in July for a month or so. Adaptable to different soils, it spreads by short rhizomes to make nice dense clumps - not like the fast spreading Mentha mints so many are afraid to plant. Great tea plant.
