A delicate plant with aromatic lacy foliage and umbels of pinkish-white flowers which ripen into seeds used as flavoring in baking, pickling, curries, and liqueurs. The seeds aid digestion, ease migraines, and are mildly sedative. The leaves, better known as cilantro, are common in cuisines around the world. Coriander oil distilled from the seeds is used in perfumes, to flavor medicines, toothpaste, and cigarette tobacco. It is also used externally to treat neuralgia and cramps. Sow seeds directly outside where you want them as they resent being transplanted. Repeat sowings every 3 weeks in the spring as they bolt quickly and stop leaf production especially when it gets hot or in the short winter days (indoors). If you have to have fresh Cilantro over the winter you might consider Vietnamese Coriander (Polygonum sp.) or Culantro (Eryngium foetidum). Packet(Standard): $3.50; 1/8 oz: $4.50; 1/4 oz: $8.50; 1/2 oz: $16.00; 1 oz: $30.00 - 1,700 seeds/oz
